Aussie Bird Count Nature Journaling Workshop
Aussie Bird Count is on again this year from Monday 20th October through to October 26th. A citizen science event, I thought, what could be more prefect than running a nature journaling workshop during the event!
I will supply basic journaling supplies - pencils, watercolours, concertina journals, etc, but feel free to bring along your own favourite supplies if you have them. We’ll also have tea/coffee and some nibbles.
I’ll also download the Aussie Bird Count app so we can enter our results and contribute to the database.
No experience is needed to participate in this workshop! It's not about the drawing, it's about experiencing nature and having fun!
When : October 25th 1-3.30pm
Where : My beautiful property in Dunnstown. Situated on 10 acres featuring a creek and lots of trees and natural landscape we always have a great variety of birds here, especially in the Spring months.
What to Bring : any favourite drawing/journaling supplies, a drink bottle, sunscreen and hat if warm, a camera (or your phone), binoculars if you have some, and anything else you think may come in handy!
Schedule : 1-1.20pm Introduction to the property; 1.20-1.40pm Aussie Bird Count; 1.40-1.50pm coffee/tea and a chat; 1.50pm-3.30pm individual nature journaling about what we saw, heard and how it made us feel! I’ll provide guidance and examples for inspiration - there will even be handouts!
